Rare Caregiver Respite Program

Providing caregivers with relief

If you are a caregiver of a child or adult with a rare disease, you may have access to a special grant from NORD. The Rare Caregiver Respite Program provides financial assistance to enable rare caregivers to have some time away from caregiving. Up to $500 annually may be granted to eligible caregivers to help cover the costs of respite caregiving services.

“Caregivers in the rare disease community spend a significant amount of time, effort and resources helping their loved ones—and they rarely get to take a break,” said Eric Dube, Ph.D., chief executive officer of Travere Therapeutics. “This program is designed to show appreciation for caregivers’ generosity.”

The program at NORD was established with support from Travere Therapeutics.
